Terms of Service

Last updated:

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the ShotScore platform ("Service"). By creating an account, registering for an event, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

ShotScore is a multi-tenant software platform for shooting ranges, clubs, and event organizers ("Organizations") to manage events, registration, scoring, leaderboards, memberships, and related operations. Organizations are independent entities: each Organization controls its own events, membership terms, fees, and conduct rules.

Participants and attendees interact with the Service when they register for an Organization’s events, appear on scoreboards, hold memberships, or receive communications sent through the platform.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it current. You are responsible for activity under your account and for safeguarding your credentials. Organization administrators are additionally responsible for the roles and permissions they grant to their staff.

The Service is not directed to children. You may use the Service only if you can form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and only in compliance with applicable law, including laws governing participation in shooting sports.

3. Payments

Payment processing on the Service (event entry fees, membership dues, and ShotScore subscription plans) is provided by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe") and is subject to the Stripe Services Agreement and, for Organizations that accept payments, the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. ShotScore does not store full payment card numbers.

Fees charged by an Organization (entry fees, dues) are set by, and paid to, that Organization; ShotScore may collect a platform fee on such transactions. Refunds, waivers, and comps for an Organization’s fees are decided by that Organization, subject to its policies. Subscription fees for ShotScore plans are charged by ShotScore and, except where required by law, are non-refundable.

All amounts are stated and processed in the currency shown at checkout. You authorize the applicable charges when you complete a checkout or accept a payment request link.

4. Waivers and event participation

Organizations may require you to sign a liability waiver before participating in their events. Waivers are agreements between you and the Organization — not with ShotScore. The Service records the waiver version you signed and when, and retains that record immutably for the Organization’s compliance purposes.

Participation in shooting sports carries inherent risk. The Organization operating an event, not ShotScore, is responsible for range safety, supervision, and compliance with applicable law.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: accessing data of an Organization or person without authorization; probing or breaching security measures; scraping or bulk-extracting personal data; interfering with scoring integrity; sending spam through platform communication features; or using the Service in violation of law.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, to protect the Service or its users, or as required by law.

6. Content and data

Organizations and users retain ownership of the content and data they submit (event configurations, rosters, scores, logos, photos). You grant ShotScore a license to host, process, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing names and scores on event leaderboards and scoreboards.

Aggregated or de-identified usage data may be used to operate and improve the Service.

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. ShotScore does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that scores and results displayed are free of operator entry errors.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShotScore’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid to ShotScore for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars. ShotScore is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for the acts or omissions of Organizations.

8. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will post the updated Terms with a new "last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these Terms may be directed to legal@shotscore.com.
